Sharks 2025-26 Game 25 Recap: Sharks 3, Canucks 2 (11/28/25)

The Sharks come from behind and bounce back from the other night in Colorado in a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks struck first via Brock Boeser early in the opening period, while the Sharks responded about five minutes later on a power play goal by Will Smith for his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Alexander Wennberg and Macklin Celebrini. Early in the second period, the Canucks retook their lead on an unreal goal by Elias Pettersson the forward. Later in the second period, the Sharks evened the contest once again, this time on a two-man advantage via William Eklund’s sixth goal of the season, assisted by Macklin Celebrini and John Klingberg. Soon after, upon an official review by the NHL, the Sharks took the lead on Adam Gaudette’s sixth goal of the season, assisted by Philipp Kurashev and Tyler Toffoli.

While the third period was scoreless, a flurry of penalties were assessed to the Sharks during the final minute, two of which were assessed to Macklin Celebrini and the others resulting from a large scrum between the Sharks and Canucks. Luckily none of these were a deciding factor in this contest, and the Sharks were able to hold on for the win.

Yaroslav Askarov remained incredible during the month of November, especially at home, compiling 32 saves on 34 shots against. In addition, John Klingberg and Vincent Iorio were inserted on the Sharks blue line in place of Shakir Mukhamadullin and Vincent Desharnais

Following the league replay review that awarded Adam Gaudette his sixth goal of the season and the game-winner when the puck found the netting of Nikita Tolopilo’s glove while completely crossing the goal line, the Sharks gained a huge momentum shift and never looked back. It was also great to see Will Smith and William Eklund snap goal droughts, Macklin Celebrini accumulate another two points, and Yaroslav Askarov remain fantastic in net. Team Teal closes out a mostly dominant month of November tomorrow night in Vegas against the Golden Knights at 7 pm PT.
