Sharks 2025-26 Game 26 Recap: Golden Knights 4, Sharks 3 (11/29/25)

A comeback in the second period by the Sharks fell short, as a big second period by the Golden Knights propelled Vegas to a 4-3 victory.

The Sharks struck first early in the opening period on Will Smith’s ninth goal of the season in his 100th NHL game, who now has goals in consecutive games. Tyler Toffoli and Dmitry Orlov assisted on the opening goal by Will Smith. Later in the first period, the Golden Knights responded on a goal from former Shark Tomas Hertl to even things up at one.

Early in the second period, Vegas scored twice via Colton Sissons and Mitch Marner to gain their first lead of the night. Later in the middle frame, the Golden Knights extended their lead to three on a deflection goal by Tomas Hertl for his second goal of the night against his former club. Soon after, the Sharks got one back on a power play goal by Will Smith for his tenth goal of the season and second goal of the night, assisted by Macklin Celebrini for the latter’s 100th NHL point. Team Teal followed that up with a breakaway goal by William Eklund for his seventh goal of the season, assisted by Adam Gaudette and Mario Ferraro, to cut their deficit to one and claw back into this contest in the final minute of the second period. The third period was scoreless, and the Sharks made more of a push towards the end of this contest, but they fell short getting that extra goal to tie and force overtime.

Alex Nedeljkovic started in goal in Vegas for the second game of this back-to-back set, recording 20 saves on 24 shots against. In addition, Shakir Mukhamadullin and Nick Leddy were inserted on the Sharks blue line tonight in place of Sam Dickinson and Vincent Iorio, while Vincent Desharnais has been and is currently dealing with an injury that has kept him out of this weekend’s games.

Despite falling short in their final game of November, it was great to see this Sharks team remain resilient and competitive to give themselves a chance to win after trailing 4-1 midway through the second period. Will Smith had a great game tonight, scoring twice in his milestone 100th NHL game, while Macklin Celebrini became one of the fastest and youngest players in NHL history to reach the 100-point mark in his career. Also on a more positive note, the Sharks close out the month of November with a 9-5-1 record and their first winning month since October 2021, which is absolutely monumental for them and their direction for the future. San Jose returns home for its next two games starting on Monday against the Utah Mammoth at 7 pm PT.

Sharks 2025-26 Game 25 Recap: Sharks 3, Canucks 2 (11/28/25)

The Sharks come from behind and bounce back from the other night in Colorado in a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks struck first via Brock Boeser early in the opening period, while the Sharks responded about five minutes later on a power play goal by Will Smith for his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Alexander Wennberg and Macklin Celebrini. Early in the second period, the Canucks retook their lead on an unreal goal by Elias Pettersson the forward. Later in the second period, the Sharks evened the contest once again, this time on a two-man advantage via William Eklund’s sixth goal of the season, assisted by Macklin Celebrini and John Klingberg. Soon after, upon an official review by the NHL, the Sharks took the lead on Adam Gaudette’s sixth goal of the season, assisted by Philipp Kurashev and Tyler Toffoli.

While the third period was scoreless, a flurry of penalties were assessed to the Sharks during the final minute, two of which were assessed to Macklin Celebrini and the others resulting from a large scrum between the Sharks and Canucks. Luckily none of these were a deciding factor in this contest, and the Sharks were able to hold on for the win.

Yaroslav Askarov remained incredible during the month of November, especially at home, compiling 32 saves on 34 shots against. In addition, John Klingberg and Vincent Iorio were inserted on the Sharks blue line in place of Shakir Mukhamadullin and Vincent Desharnais

Following the league replay review that awarded Adam Gaudette his sixth goal of the season and the game-winner when the puck found the netting of Nikita Tolopilo’s glove while completely crossing the goal line, the Sharks gained a huge momentum shift and never looked back. It was also great to see Will Smith and William Eklund snap goal droughts, Macklin Celebrini accumulate another two points, and Yaroslav Askarov remain fantastic in net. Team Teal closes out a mostly dominant month of November tomorrow night in Vegas against the Golden Knights at 7 pm PT.

Sharks 2025-26 Game 24 Recap: Avalanche 6, Sharks 0 (11/26/25)

The Colorado Avalanche asserted their dominance in a 6-0 shutout victory over the San Jose Sharks

The Avalanche struck first early in the opening period via Ross Colton to get this one going. Colorado then extended its lead to two on a power play goal by none other than Nathan MacKinnon in the final minute of the first period. Early in the second period, the Avalanche officially blew this game open, scoring three goals via Sam Malinski, Josh Manson, and Joel Kiviranta to make it 5-0. After the fourth Avs goal was scored by Manson, Yaroslav Askarov was removed from the Sharks net in favor of Alex Nedeljkovic. Askarov’s night ended with 15 saves on 19 shots against, which was undoubtedly his worst performance of the month but not entirely his fault. Lastly, late in the third period, the Avalanche added one more goal via Artturi Lehkonen to put up a six-spot in their one-sided win.

Alex Nedeljkovic recorded 21 saves on 23 shots in relief for Yaroslav Askarov.

Overall, the Avalanche are on an absolute tear and in a league of their own, having won their last ten games and only recorded one regulation loss so far this season. They are far and away the top performing team in the NHL, and there was not much the Sharks, or many other teams for that matter, could do to slow this Avs team down. Next up, the Sharks return home to host the Vancouver Canucks on Black Friday at 1 pm PT.

My 13th NHL Game: Sharks 3, Bruins 1 (11/23/25)

I have returned to the Shark Tank for my fourth game this season on Sunday, and this was an incredible game with some unique aspects to my personal experience compared to previous Sharks games that I have attended. It began with a two-hour early entry into the arena for a pregame mixer that I got to take part in due to my friend being a multi-game ticket package holder. As I entered the arena, since the theme night was next generation/kids night, I and all other fans in attendance received a free set of shoe charms. The pregame mixer took place in a conference/banquet room on the first floor and featured free food, drinks, and raffle prizes for participating guests. Most of the food provided at this pregame mixer was good, and I had a bit of everything except for the fresh veggies. I was able to fill up on just one round of food, consisting of chicken tenders, chicken skewers, mini corn dogs, cheese & jalapeno taquitos, and chocolate chip cookies. I also took home one of the arena's aluminum drink cups from this pregame mixer. While I did not win any raffle prizes and it caused me to miss warmups, the pregame mixer was a new, unique, and worthy experience for me that most fans generally miss out on.

Once that was completed, my friend and I headed straight for our seats to catch puck drop. The Sharks got off to a great start to this contest, as Shakir Mukhamadullin scored his first goal of the season late in the first period, assisted by Mario Ferraro and Barclay Goodrow. Onto the second period, where the most impressive play I saw in this game that was not a Sharks goal or a Yaroslav Askarov save was an old fashioned hip check by Dmitry Orlov that flipped Sean Kuraly onto his back. The Sharks extended their lead to two later in the second period on a power play goal by Macklin Celebrini for his 14th goal of the season, assisted by Dmitry Orlov and Tyler Toffoli. Fast forward to the middle of the third period, when the Bruins got on the board via Morgan Geekie, who is one of the NHL leaders in goals at the moment with 17 on the campaign, to cut the Sharks lead to one. At least this lone Bruins goal earned points for my fantasy team. Lastly, with just over a minute remaining in the game, Collin Graf potted one into the empty net for his third goal of the season, assisted by William Eklund and Macklin Celebrini.

Yaroslav Askarov continued his dominance in the crease during the month of November, recording 34 saves on 35 shots against. In addition, it was announced on the jumbotron that Alexander Wennberg skated in his 100th game as a Shark. As with the promotional theme, some memes were presented throughout the game, and the viral 6-7 trend took over as well. Besides the actual game itself, it was cool seeing a local team of small children have a skills competition during the first intermission. Unlike all other games I have attended, my most recent visit to the team store was made after the game ended, in which I purchased a collectible Zamboni and a puck with the Sharks’ current center ice design on it.

Overall, my latest Sharks game was an all-around phenomenal one, as Team Teal earned a bounceback complete win against a Boston Bruins team that has performed well compared to their expectations heading into this season. Besides Askarov, who I can see winning a Vezina Trophy sooner than later, Shakir Mukhamadullin had his best performance so far this season, Macklin Celebrini continued to rack up goals and points, and Sam Dickinson had a great performance as well. This marked my first time seeing the Boston Bruins and a team from the Atlantic Division play in person, bringing my total to 14 NHL teams in my quest to attend games involving all 32 NHL teams. The player from the Bruins I enjoyed seeing the most Sunday night was undoubtedly David Pastrnak, while former Sharks legend Marco Sturm is the current head coach for Boston. On top of that, the Sharks are now back to a winning record of 5-4-3 when I am at their games. This most recent Sharks-Bruins matchup was certainly an all-time great game out of all the hockey games I have attended, and I am already looking forward to the next Sharks game that I will have the opportunity to attend whenever that may be. Regular Sharks game reviews on CPF Hockey resume on Wednesday, when San Jose travels to Colorado to face the Avalanche at 6 pm PT.
