Sharks Re-Sign Brandon Coe

The Sharks announced a minor transaction today, re-signing forward Brandon Coe to a one-year, two-way contract.

Coe has yet to play a game in the NHL, but his time to shine in the big league could come next season if the right opportunity for him arises. This past season with the Barracuda, Coe recorded 12 goals and five assists for 17 points in 57 AHL games, setting career bests in goals and points. His first full AHL season occurred in 2022-23, registering five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 56 games with the Barracuda. In total, Coe has 18 goals and 20 assists for 38 points in 130 career AHL games.

Overall, it's good to get Brandon Coe under contract for next season, but I don't have any strong feelings about this latest transaction. As for other Sharks RFAs that still need new contracts heading into next season, there are two skaters remaining, specifically one forward and one defenseman in Thomas Bordeleau and Henry Thrun respectively. Hopefully both Bordeleau and Thrun get re-signed to new deals sooner than later. Watch this space for more updates.
