Sharks 2021-22 Game 28 Recap: Sharks 2, Stars 1 (12/11/21)

The Sharks bounce back from their previous game on Thursday as they defeat the Dallas Stars 2-1.

I would first like to begin that it was Military Appreciation Night and Joe Pavelski's return to the Tank this season. It also marked Brent Burns' 625th consecutive game played, setting a Sharks franchise record.

San Jose scored the first goal of the game in the first period, which went to Tomas Hertl after he deflected the initial shot from Timo Meier. Aleander Barabanov was the first to set up the first goal and was credited with the secondary assist on that goal. The Sharks extended their lead to two late in the second period via Erik Karlsson's eighth goal of the season, which was another absolute bomb of a shot. Assisting on the second goal of the game were Timo Meier and Alexander Barabanov. The final frame saw the Stars avoid getting shut out with a goal from Michael Raffl.

James Reimer made his return to the crease after missing the past handful of games due to a lower body injury. He was excellent against the Stars, making 34 saves on 35 shots.

This was another great win by the Sharks, highlighted by James Reimer returning to form and Erik Karlsson playing his best hockey since joining Team Teal. San Jose is looking to get another win streak together as they face the Seattle Kraken for the first time ever in their next game on Tuesday at 7:30 pm PT.
