Some unexpected news has occurred with the Sharks today, as Ryan Clowe has stepped down from his role as the Sharks’ assistant general manager after just one season in this role with the team.
It is not clearly known at this time why he abruptly resigned as Sharks Assistant GM, but the team released a statement from Ryan Clowe on the matter:
"Recently, I had to make the extremely difficult decision to resign from my position as assistant general manager with the San Jose Sharks. I truly loved being back in San Jose and working with Mike Grier and his entire team, but at this point, this decision is in the best interest of my family. The franchise has an exciting future ahead and is set up to be successful for a long period of time, and I am grateful to Mike and Jonathan Becher for giving me the opportunity to return to San Jose."
Ryan Clowe was a great player and fan favorite in San Jose, and I and many other Sharks fans were hyped when he returned to San Jose in a front office role. The news of his resignation as Sharks Assistant GM caught me off guard, but I hope for nothing but the best for Clowe, his family, and his future endeavors.
