Sharks 2023-24 Game 14 Recap: Golden Knights 5, Sharks 0 (11/10/23)

The Sharks have been humbled and returned to their old ways, getting shut out 5-0 by the Vegas Golden Knights.

The Golden Knights jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period on goals from Alex Pietrangelo and Alec Martinez. They then added on three more goals in the third period via William Karlsson, Alec Martinez, and Brett Howden to pad their lead significantly to the point of no return for Team Teal.

Kaapo Kahkonen drew in net since the Sharks were in the second game of a back-to-back, recording a total of 34 saves on 39 shots. In addition, Anthony Duclair didn’t play in this game, as he is dealing with an illness. Oskar Lindblom took Duclair’s place in the Sharks lineup and made his first appearance in an NHL game this season.

Overall, the Sharks receiving a reality check in this game shouldn’t come as much of a surprise considering the circumstances they faced, but at least they got their first two wins of the season out of the way. Next up, Team Teal travels to Anaheim to face the Ducks in their next game on Sunday at 5 pm PT.
