Evander Kane Signs with Edmonton Oilers

Former Sharks forward Evander Kane and the Edmonton Oilers have verbally agreed to a contract for the remainder of this season valued at a total of $2.094 million. A full no-movement clause is also attached to the deal. Kane will wear number 91 for the Oilers.

On the other hand, Kane won't face any additional discipline for his violations of COVID protocol. This will have no effect on the grievance filed on behalf of Kane by the NHLPA following the termination of his contract by the Sharks.

The Sharks have yet to face the Oilers this season, so they will be facing off against Evander Kane four times starting in SAP Center on Valentine's Day.

I'm happy that Evander Kane is mainly the Oilers' problem now. There's no denying that he can score goals and produce on offense, but there's no guarantee that he will behave himself and not disrupt another team's locker room culture.

In other news, goalie Adin Hill is currently day-to-day with a lower-body injury.
